Bury Crafts is an independent, educational and manufacturing workshop.
It is our intention, through our educational provision to liberate individual creativity by encouraging students to discover their own creative potential.
Bury Crafts provide long, short, day and evening courses giving tuition for up to twelve participants per session as beginners or more experienced students.
There are courses in the following:
- Traditional and contemporary precious metal jewellery making
- Techniques of Precious Metal Clay (PMC)
- Costume and bead jewellery including the use of ‘Swarovski’ crystals, polyester resin and glass beads
- Gemstone recognition
- Stone setting
- Design, illustration and technical drawing
- Enamelling
- Wax carving
- Soldering
Jewellery is created in a variety of precious metals and gemstones. Many students have progressed to make their own engagement and wedding rings.
Leisure classes have evolved for students who just want to enjoy making jewellery. Trips to jewellery exhibitions and places of inspiration are arranged.
All classes are with highly experienced tuition, in a safe (first aid qualified) supervised working environment.
Individual tuition and supervised bench space is hired to more experienced students with a proven ability.
Bury Crafts design and produce exquisite, traditional and contemporary pieces of jewellery in precious metals and fine gemstones. A competent and comprehensive repair service to all standards of precious metals is also available.
