Keum Bo
This is a Korean technique of fusing pure gold foil on to silver. The term Keum meaning gold and Bo translating as applied. Because of the extreme delicacy of the pure gold sheet traditional solder can't be used. The 24 carat gold sheet has to be thermally fused to the silver alloy using the correct pressure and temperature.

Time: 10.00am - 4.00pm
Lunch: Provided. 12.30 - 1.30pm.
Materials: Metals may be bought via the workshop.
Clothing:Protective equipment and cotton lab coats are provided. We recommend jeans and sturdy shoes.
Qualifications: Applicants must have some proven experience of jewellery making.
Fees: £90 exclusive of materials. Payable in advance.

Soldering for beginners
Soldering is by far the hardest part of Jewellery making. This is an intensive course for beginners to help them start to understand the complexities and techniques required for successful soldering.

This course is designed to give the student an insight to the pleasure and sense of achievment that accompanies the activity of inventing and creating objects in precious metals.

Materials: Up to 5 grammes of silver will be provided.

This is a course to introduce students to the wonders of Precious Metal Clay. A clay that can be formed in several different ways and then be transformed into either pure gold or silver. Sounds impossible? Come and have a look .
